Byron Stripling has toured and recorded with Dizzy Gillespie, Woody Herman, Dave Brubeck, Lionel Hampton, Sonny Rollins, and Paquito D’Rivera

At the age of 22 years old, Carmen Bradford was discovered and hired by William "Count" Basie and was the featured vocalist in the legendary Count Basie Orchestra for nine years.

I will be presenting my first faculty solo recital at VSU in collaboration with Maila Springfield. The program will feature works by Fernande Decruck, Marilyn Shrude, Carolyn Borcherding, and Elsie Bae Han.

I will be performing Marilyn Shrude’s Concerto for alto saxophone and wind ensemble with the VSU Wind Ensemble for the South Georgia Region Honor Band Festival.
